I know why I’m not confident/conceited, whatever you wanna call it. Because there are instances where people tell me that I’m capable, that it’ll be cake for me, and as soon I tell myself “I got this. This will be easy. I don’t have to worry. I’m a great guy, they gotta accept me,” I get a phone call with the words, “We regret to inform you that… you’re essentially not good enough. Try again later.”

… So at the moment, I’ll stick with being an insecure fuck, because if I have low expectations of myself, the only destination is up.
